TYMBA Education recently rewarded its Foundation in Accounting (FIA) Term 3 students with a unique and rejuvenating experience. The students were rewarded a two-day, one-night healing vacation or glamping retreat at Woodstock Camp in Janda Baik, Pahang. This event, held on the 18th and 19th of July, 2024, was organized to honor the students’ hard work and dedication throughout their Foundation year in their ACCA studies. The scenic landscape provided the perfect backdrop for this celebration of accomplishment and relaxation.
Day One: Arrival and Activities
On the bright morning of July 18th, 90 students eagerly arrived at Woodstock Camp around 8:30AM. The excitement was brewing as they were welcomed with a hearty breakfast before checking into their cozy tents. The day unfolded with a relaxed and free-spirited agenda, allowing the students to unwind and immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the camp.
The activities were varied and catered to different interests. Many students took to the refreshing river for a swim, while others engaged in lively karaoke sessions. The campgrounds buzzed with laughter and good vibes as students strolled through the area, soaking in the tranquil environment. The day was a testament to the importance of balancing rigorous academic pursuits with moments of leisure and connection.
An Inspiring Evening
As the sun set, a new wave of excitement washed over the camp with the arrival of several TYMBA staff members, including the esteemed CEO of TYMBA, Airil Razali. The highlight of the evening was Airil Razali’s heartfelt speech. He congratulated the students on their perseverance and hard work, emphasizing the significance of their achievements. His words resonated deeply, leaving a lasting impression on the young students.
The night continued with more karaoke, where both students and staff showcased their vocal talents. As the melodies filled the air, many took the opportunity to stargaze, marveling at the clear night sky, a rare and serene experience for many of the urban-dwelling students.
Day Two: Culinary Creativity and Farewell
The second day of the retreat began with a slight change in plans due to unexpected rain, leading to the cancellation of the scheduled Zumba session. Despite the weather, spirits remained high. Following breakfast, the students enjoyed another leisurely morning before participating in a fun-filled sandwich-making competition.
This competition brought out the students’ creativity and teamwork as they crafted unique and delicious sandwiches. The TYMBA tutors took on the role of judges, delighting in the inventive culinary creations presented to them. This activity not only provided a platform for friendly competition but also encouraged bonding and collaboration among the students.
In the afternoon, the male students took a brief break for Friday prayers, while the rest continued to enjoy the camp’s amenities. Karaoke remained a popular pastime, with many students taking turns to sing their favorite songs, creating an atmosphere of joy and celebration.
As the retreat drew to a close, the students began packing up and preparing for their departure. By 8 PM, they bid farewell to Woodstock Camp, returning to their hostels with fond memories and a renewed sense of connection.
A Memorable Reward
The healing vacation at Woodstock Camp was more than just a break from academic pressures, it was a celebration of the students’ achievements and a testament to TYMBA Education’s commitment to holistic development. By providing this retreat, TYMBA acknowledged the hard work and perseverance of its students, offering them a chance to relax, bond, and rejuvenate.
This event also highlighted the importance of balance in education and recognizing that academic success is best achieved when coupled with opportunities for relaxation and personal growth.
